Author • Entrepreneur • Children's Mental Health Advocate

Here's the thing — I never planned to write a book. I never planned to start a mental health company. And I definitely never planned to build my life around one idea: your identity is your power.

But life has a way of showing you exactly what you're here for. And for me, it started when I realized something that changed everything — the labels I'd been carrying? I agreed to them. Every single one.

I spent years performing. Performing for the church. Performing for my family. Performing for a version of myself that was never really mine. And then one day, someone asked me a question that cracked everything open:

"Who told you that?"

That question didn't just change my thinking. It changed my life.

I'm Adam James — author of Identity Theft: Reclaiming Who I Am, founder of Safe Harbor Behavioral Health, and a man who believes that transformation doesn't come from fixing what's broken. It comes from remembering what was always whole.

The Book: Identity Theft — Reclaiming Who I Am

Identity Theft isn't a self-help book — because you don't need help. It's a mirror. I wrote it to show you that the identity the world tried to steal from you? It was never really gone. You just agreed to a version of yourself that someone else wrote.

My book is here to remind you that you're the author of your life — not just a character in it.

The Mission: Safe Harbor Behavioral Health

I founded Safe Harbor Behavioral Health in Tulsa, Oklahoma because I believe no kid is broken. Our flagship Body and Brain Program serves children ages 3 to 8 in daycares, preschools, and community centers across the state. We use movement, play, and emotional regulation activities to help kids build the tools they need — not someday, but right now.

Here's what I've learned: when you impact the kids, it impacts the parents. When you reach the parents, it impacts the community. And when you shift the community, you shift the world. That's the ripple effect. That's what we're building.

The Philosophy: Reminding People Who They Are

I don't fix people. I just clean their glasses so they can see themselves differently. That's all I do — I remind people who they are. Whether it's through the book, through Safe Harbor, or through a conversation at a coffee shop — the message is the same.

Your identity is your power. Labels only stick when you agree with them. And the moment you stop agreeing? Everything changes.

If you're ready to reclaim who you are, you're in the right place.
